Can I get a same-day appointment?

Mr Read aims see you, reassure you and treat you as quickly and safely as possible.

His regular clinic is on a Monday morning at the Nuffield Health, Guildford.

If this is unsuitable ad-hoc appointments and virtual appointments can be arranged at other times through his secretarial team.

Will my health insurance cover my visit?

Mr Read is an approved, registered & fee assured provider for:

Aetna
Aviva Health
AXA PPP Healthcare
Cigna
Vitality Health (Pru Health)
WPA

Pre-approval should be obtained from your insurer before your visit / treatment

Can I drive to my appointment?

Nuffield Health Guildford provide on site parking for patients convienince.

If however you are attending for a procedure that requires sedation such as a colonoscopy or an operation under general anaesthetic you will need to organise alternate transport home from the hospital.

Why do the hospital receptionists take bank card details at registration when I am insured?

Hospitals levy their fees independently of your surgeon. For insured patients they normally settle their bill directly with your health insurer. While the credit/debit card is not normally charged the details are taken for security by the hospital as the patient remains ultimately responsible for their bill.

Can my friend / relative come to my clinic appointment with me?

Mr Read encourages you to bring a friend or family member with you and they will be made to feel equally welcome.

What precautions are taken during the Covid-19 pandemic?

Masks and hand gel are available throughout the hospital and will be worn inside by all patients, staff and visitors that are not exempt.

Patients will be swabbed for Covid-19 before their operation and placed on a "green pathway" peri operatively.
